CES 2020, the world’s largest and most influential tech event, wrapped last week after the debut of more than 20,000 products. These unveiled the future of technology, which will feature AI and 5G.
More than 4,400 exhibiting companies, from startups to global tech brands, launched their latest tech products to 170,000 attendees at CES 2020.
“CES 2020 inspired and connected every major industry across the globe,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), owner and producer of CES.
“The innovation unveiled at CES 2020 will reshape industries, create jobs, fuel the global economy and improve lives around the world.”

Key themes at CES included artificial intelligence (AI), which will be a ‘key ingredient technology’ over the next 10 years, according to a press release.
5G and mobile technology was dominant, with carriers and mobile operators demonstrating the latest advancements in 5G’s speed, reliability and efficiency.
In addition, non-traditional tech companies launched products at CES 2020. For example, Impossible Foods debuted its Impossible Pork.
“This week at CES illustrated that every company is truly a tech company,” said Karen Chupka, executive vice president, CES.

As for ‘tech for good’, innovative technologies that will change lives and improve the world launched at CES, with digital health technologies a major theme.
Eureka Park CES 2020, the world’s largest startup event, attracted more than 1,200 companies from 46 countries.
Technologies unveiled include the Oval Home smart sensor, which analyses temperature, light, humidity and movement in the home, as well as Yoganotch, which applies motion capture technology to improve users’ poses.
“CES has the unique ability for startups and young companies to get exposure to major global brands,” said Mara Lewis, co-founder and CEO of ID8 Innovation, member of CTA Board of Industry Leaders. “The opportunities for venture funding and growth are incredible here.”
“We hosted 40 CEOs and corporate directors here, and over half were attending CES for the very first time,” said Nichole Jordan, central region managing partner at Grant Thornton, member of CTA Board of Industry Leaders.
“As we debriefed, they said this show – this experience – helps them to reimagine their businesses and their futures.”
Elsewhere, Comcast NBCUniversal LIFT Labs Accelerator, powered by Techstars, is now accepting applications for the next programme, which is looking for startups working on breakthroughs in connectivity, media and entertainment.
