Christie, the global visual and audio technology company, has released a new version of its Pandoras Box Software. With a breadth of new features, the budget-friendly platform for live and fixed entertainment environments delivers high-level media processing performance. Pandoras Box Version 8 features suite licensing and simplified workflows as well as show control, and real-time video processing.

One license for the entire software range

A single license gives access not only to all features within the award-winning Pandoras Box, but the entire software range. Previously, this functionality was only available with Educational, Compact Player, Manager, Player, Server, and Software player licenses combined. And now, features only available with server combinations are also available for all software users on custom hardware configurations.

In addition to 10-bit color depth playback, sixty-four-bit processing, high frame rate 3D stereoscopic video playback and processing, and multi-user control, this version of Pandoras Box offers all the benefits of previous versions. Version 8’s new content ingestion function is perfect for content-heavy shows—advanced image batch handling saves a lot of time.

Budget-conscious flexible hardware pairing

Pandoras Box is a solution for everything from complex spectaculars to single displays. Version 8 integrates with other Christie products, including Christie RGB projectors, MicroTiles LED, Sypder X80, and Christie Terra. Robust yet simplified, the software gives configuration-free access to native Dante audio, supports NDI network streams, and Notch implementation.

The software pairs with any Christie hardware, or existing custom setups. The Pandoras Box Server R5 is one such option with powerful componentry. A single R5 can make the most of limited budgets through its wide array of performance and drive space selections. The R5 is customizable with performance kits and optional video or audio cards. Christie Terra SDVoE, Dante and FLEX all offer superior integration.

Streamlined and flexible workflows

Pandoras Box Server R5 will be available in China, Korea, and Russia by the end of 2021. R5 is already available in most regions. A beta version of Pandoras Box V8 is available now.

“Pandoras Box software Version 8 is a great leap forward in terms of the flexibility and workflow it offers,” says Christie Product Manager, Markus Zeppenfeld. “With this new software version, we’ve kept the core appeal of Pandoras Box by combining the feature sets of all our existing software licenses into one single package and offering it to every level of Pandoras Box user.

“This solution will deliver more value, quality, features, performance and further streamline the creative efforts for our partners, be they consultants, integrators, rental stagers or end users.”

Christie offers source-to-display technology solutions to a wide range of customers, from end-users to integrators. Stagers and designers around the world working on high-profile attractions like National Opera Amsterdam, Gyeongnam Masan Robot Land in South Korea, and Xpark Aquarium Taipei put their trust in Christie technologies.

Christie solutions was recently chosen for Venice Cinemas multiplex in Taiwan.
