Lucasfilm’s immersive entertainment studio ILMxLAB has announced a collaboration with LBE VR company Nomadic on a new arcade-style VR experience, ‘Vader Immortal – Lightsaber Dojo’.

ILMxLAB is excited to be collaborating with Nomadic again on the virtual reality (VR) experience, as an extension of its successful launch of Lightsaber Dojo in 2019.

The new immersive experience is inspired by the original Episode III Lightsaber Dojo from the award-winning VR game Vader Immortal.

It invites players to train with iconic lightsabers, blasters and the Force, in order to combat droids, stormtroopers and other creatures before a fight against Darth Vader.

“The ILMxLAB team is excited to bring a new chapter to the Lightsaber Dojo experience,” said senior producer, Shereif Fattouh.

“Fans will have the unique opportunity to battle Darth Vader himself using all their abilities in the ultimate test of skill,” added Fattouh.

Visitors will wear top-of-the-line VR headsets before selecting a lightsaber and difficulty level. They will be transported to Mustafar, Darth Vader’s home planet.

“Nomadic is thrilled to once again partner with ILMxLAB to bring guests into the world of Star Wars,” said Sean Griffin, president of Nomadic.

“Our new form factor will deliver a more immersive experience for players, will provide a social viewing experience for their friends and family, and is more efficient for family entertainment centers and arcades to operate.

“We can’t wait for Star Wars fans worldwide to experience it.”

ILMxLAB previously announced a VR experience in collaboration with Oculus Studios, based on the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge expansion at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge offers players the chance to live their own adventure in an original story featuring new and iconic characters from Star Wars.

Sean Griffin will be speaking at the blooloop V-Expo, running from October 13 to 15. Don’t miss out – register here today.
