News
KLT AV Awards 2022

The Austrian headquartered firm has been recognised for several technologically-advanced projects

Kraftwerk Living Technologies (KLT), a leading-edge AV systems integrator, is celebrating its collection of international industry accolades in a milestone year for the company, which includes a trio of blooloop Innovation Awards.

The KSA Pavilion, part of Expo 2020 Dubai from October 2021 to March 2022, showcases unique, cutting-edge technology and is one of the largest and most advanced projects KLT has worked on, employing media technology of all kinds on a scale rarely seen for such an installation.

The pavilion represented the legacy and future of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia unconventionally with no written language, and visual and sound experiences given through technology and media content.

Alongside the architects and designer team of Boris Micka Associates, KLT was responsible for all audiovisual systems, from the technical design phase to the installation and system integration of all AV equipment. The KSA Pavilion, with its innovative and ground-breaking technical elements, set three Guinness World Records and received other prestigious accolades in 2022.

Kraftwerk Living Technologies was crowned as a winner at the blooloop Innovation Awards last week, which celebrates the creativity, ingenuity and passion that keep the attractions business moving forward. As such, the KSA Pavilion was named as the first-place winner of the Spectacular category.

The firm was also nominated in two categories at this year’s Inavation Awards: “Best R&D” and “Visitor Attraction,” and was awarded the latter for the KSA Pavilion on 10 May 2022 at the Awards ceremony in Barcelona.

Finally, KLT was included among the finalists of the AV Awards, which took place on 4 November in London and got the second major industry award for the pavilion, namely for “Themed Entertainment and Attractions Project of the Year”.

Historical significance

Jora Vision’s Quake Experience is an innovative tourist attraction in Lisbon, Portugal, that portrays the story of a tremendous earthquake that decimated the city in the 18th century. Visitors witness the horrors of a natural disaster in a 90-minute immersive experience before overcoming hurdles to return to the present, made possible in collaboration with KLT.

The guest experience mixes historical and educational components with the latest technology and was rewarded with a number of blooloop Innovation Award recognitions, winning first place in the Themed Environment category, sponsored by Lumsden, and third place in the Storytelling category, sponsored by Storyland Studios.

The Quake Experience also received the Themed Entertainment Association’s THEA Award in the “Outstanding Achievement – Historical Experience, Limited Budget” category.

A representative says: “As a specialist partner, Kraftwerk Living Technologies is honoured to have supported Jora Vision in this exciting project and congratulates all involved on an outstanding achievement!”
