L-Acoustics, industry leaders in designing and manufacturing sound systems and technology, has revealed major updates to L-ISA, its market-leading immersive production platform for the live sound and music creation sector.
Significant new features include 16 free outputs in L-ISA Studio, integration of Mixhalo’s AI-powered translation services with the L-ISA Processor II subscription model, and others.
Introducing L-ISA 3.2
16 free outputs have been added to L-ISA Studio, which means that immersive monitoring settings are more affordable. This functionality is especially beneficial for theatre professionals and educational institutions worldwide.
L-ISA 3.2 opens up immersive playback possibilities for plays and musicals in theatre settings, supporting the creation of contemporary productions. The most recent version of L-ISA offers new potential for secondary and higher education settings, where immersive audio is frequently taught in theory but difficult to apply cost-effectively.
In addition, L-ISA 3.2 is Mixhalo subscription-ready, which means that each new L-ISA Processor II comes pre-loaded with Mixhalo cloud-based features that can be activated with a single subscription and usage-based pricing. Mixhalo is an on-device real-time streaming platform for live events at scale. It allows event organisers to create customised experiences which visitors can access on their devices at any location within the venue.
New Mixhalo features
Event organisers and service providers may utilise AI-powered Mixhalo Translate to develop inclusive and accessible experiences across various locations. With this, thousands of users can access real-time content in dozens of languages.
Mixhalo Live allows you to stream up to 16 channels of customised, immersive content directly to the audiences’ smartphones. Mixhalo Moments enables guests to create short movies with professional quality audio from Mixhalo for their social media accounts. All capabilities are easily adjustable using Mixhalo Control, which makes managing numerous audio streams simple and accessible through a web-based interface.
Mixhalo features can be activated immediately by a select group of beta phase partners in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. Wider availability is anticipated later in 2024.
Other notable additions to L-ISA 3.2 include improvements to the Room Engine, such as a new Cluster algorithm that allows users to set separate group levels for early and late reflections. Room Engine is a sophisticated set of proprietary spatial algorithms for object-based reverberation and immersive applications It can be used with nearly any acoustic space and audio content.
L-ISA 3.2 also includes new capabilities and modifications to the Snapshot Engine, as well as enhancements to the L-ISA audio bridge for Windows.
L-Acoustics will be demonstrating L-ISA 3.2 and Mixhalo at InfoComm 2024, which is taking place from 8 to 14 June in Las Vegas, with the show floor open from 12 to 14 June. Demos will take place each day at 10 am, 12 pm, 2 pm and 4 pm (excluding Friday). In addition, one-to-one workshops can be booked online.
Earlier this year, L-Acoustics presented the new AI-powered Mixhalo Translate functionality for L-ISA and the Xi Series of coaxial speakers at ISE 2024.
