Mobaro, a provider of online maintenance and safety solutions, has shared details of its successful implementation at Folly Farm in South Wales. Here, the solution has transformed how safety procedures, maintenance, and operational management are addressed.
In addition, the firm has announced that it has recently joined the National Farm Attractions Network (NFAN). The move has been driven by increased interest from the UK’s growing farm attractions sector.
Mobaro will also be exhibiting at the 2024 Land, Leisure & Tourism Show. This event aims to connect these diverse industries and is taking place from 6 to 7 November at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, UK.
Digital strategy
Mobaro has been successfully implemented at numerous UK attractions, and Folly Farm’s digital adoption began in 2018.
Royston Badham, operations manager at Folly Farm, comments: “Mobaro was initially brought in to replace our paper checks on our rides to give us more control and oversight of reoccurring defects and also to streamline the checks for the team so make them easier to understand with pictures and more.”
Folly Farm’s adoption of Mobaro started as a focused project to improve control over ride inspections. However, it quickly developed into an overarching strategy which intended to maximize efficiency and promote a safety-conscious culture throughout the whole facility.
“Since implementation, our staff have become more aware of hazards and can quickly report problems, ensuring their tasks have been signed off as proof their work has been completed,” says Badham.
Team members at Folly Farm have found that Mobaro’s user-friendly interface, with visual assistance and streamlined procedures, has made work much easier. The incorporation of key documents into the Mobaro platform has made sure that everyone has access to vital information.
Badham explains: “SOP’s, risk assessments, and other company documents are now at everyone’s fingertips whereas before they had to go to certain locations for paper copies so now there is no excuse for doing things wrong.”
Comprehensive solution
Mobaro has provided substantial financial benefits to Folly Farm. Using the solution’s reporting capabilities, the management team could access useful insights into ongoing concerns with rides and equipment. This data-driven process supports informed decisions about maintenance or replacement, optimising resource allocation and decreasing unnecessary costs.
Furthermore, Mobaro has proven useful in litigation cases, where the platform’s complete records serve as substantive proof of compliance and due diligence. Badham says: “I have been able to successfully defend some litigation cases against us by providing Mobaro records to prove certain checks have been performed on our rides.”
Folly Farm’s enthusiastic support for Mobaro underlines the solution’s significance for the attraction’s health and safety management system, and strengthens Mobaro’s reputation as a trusted partner in operational excellence.
Mobaro was recently a platinum sponsor of the AIMS Safety Seminar, which took place from 7 to 12 January in Orlando. This sponsorship follows a record-breaking year for the firm.
