Root for Nature at Oasis Immersion

Oasis Immersive Studios, an entertainment organisation specialising in the creation, display and distribution of immersive experiences, and National Geographic, a leading creator of documentaries, live events, experiences, and travelling exhibitions, have joined forces to present Root for Nature, a new sensory experience at Oasis Immersion in Montreal, Canada.

The experience, which Oasis calls “A powerful, modern perspective on biodiversity” aims to capture a moment in time, providing an evocative spectacle that underscores the significance of conserving the magic of our world and strengthening the will to meet the COP15 commitments, which seek to safeguard thirty percent of all ecosystems by 2030.

A unique sensory experience

The programme, produced and travelled by Oasis Immersive Studios in collaboration with National Geographic, contains a never-before-seen sensory experience in the heart of nature. Its goal is to inspire viewers to take constructive action in the face of pressing biodiversity concerns.

It brings together several organisations involved in conservation and sustainable development, including the United Nations, the David Suzuki Foundation, the Workshops for Biodiversity, the Age of Union Environmental Alliance, the Palais des congrès de Montréal, Tourisme Montréal, WSP, and National Geographic.

The Root for Nature exhibition’s opening gallery, A World of Regeneration, is designed by Katerine Giguère and Johnny Ranger and showcases stunning National Geographic pictures. It invites visitors to reconnect with nature and enjoy its beauty and diversity.

The next gallery, We Are All Connected, brings together digital art and science to demonstrate the interconnectedness of the natural and human worlds. Using advanced generative digital creation techniques, visual artist Alex Le Guillou‘s experience encourages viewers to explore how every element of nature is connected.

Root for Nature’s final tableau, Rising to the Challenge, showcases Émile Roy‘s immersive film, featuring David Suzuki, Joséphine Bacon, and others. The film explores how collective action may change our relationship with the Earth and break destructive cycles.

Root for Nature is also available for license.

National Geographic recently celebrated the success of its exhibition Becoming Jane: The Evolution of Dr Jane Goodall. The touring exhibition won Best Wow Moment at the TREX Traveling Exhibition Awards and opened at the Natural History Museum of Utah on 7 December, where it will remain until 27 May 2024.
