nWave Pictures, a multinational producer and distributor of immersive 3D/4D content, is celebrating a successful return to Europe’s largest tradeshow for the amusement industry.
Returning to the UK capital after more than a decade, IAAPA Expo Europe took place from Monday 12 to Thursday 15 September, hosting the biggest names in the amusement park industry.
With a varied portfolio of exhibitors including ride, inflatable and gaming manufacturers, nWave represented the immersive media sector at this year’s event. “It was impossible not to find what you were looking for in the multitude of attractions offered at this exhibition,” notes nWave.
New presentations
This year’s event provided an opportunity for nWave Studios to present its latest creations with new attractions and rides that cater for the whole family.
Amongst the showcased releases were Calamity Mine Ride and Wanted Alive, attraction films from nWave’s partner Red Star which plunge viewers into the parched plains of the far west.
Produced by nWave’s in-house studio, Trapper’s Adventures will take guests on a perilous mission to save Bigfoot, whilst Asphalt 4D: Rush Ride, will take adrenaline junkies on a race behind the wheel of a beautiful bevvy of Porsches, based on the one billion downloaded multi-award winning arcade racing franchise.
nWave says that its team thoroughly enjoyed the networking opportunities delivered by the convention and noticed a new enthusiasm from all corners of the amusement market.
More films to come
The distributor also used IAAPA Expo Europe as an opportunity to announce the upcoming release of Meg and the Lost Scepter, its latest attraction film. The story features a fearless skunk which offers assistance to Chickenhare in nWave’s latest feature film Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness. The film will be unveiled at next month’s IAAPA Expo.
“We felt that the crisis is more and more behind us and the future of the theme parks is bright again, says nWave Pictures’ senior vice president, sales & distribution EMEA, Goedele Gillis. “The season was very positive for most companies. As a result, our teams are all the more motivated to produce quality attractions that will entertain families all across the globe.”
Earlier this year, nWave announced it is partnering with Belgian animation studio A Contracorriente for a new film.
