Jason White is Managing Director, Corporate Safety & Security at Hersheypark in Pennsylvania. During the coronavirus pandemic, he has helped both his park and others in the US understand what is required in terms of safety amid ‘the new normal’.
White and his team work hard behind the scenes at Hersheypark to ensure its three million+ annual guests enjoy a trouble-free day out with their friends and family. Temperature screening, sanitation stations and timed ticketing are just some of the measures the park has implemented in response to Covid-19. This season White has also overseen the implementation of a touchless security screening system that largely eliminates manual bag checks.
“Just knowing that our guests are able to come to Hershey, forget about everything else going on in the world, and have fun because a dedicated group of professionals is working tirelessly to ensure that their visit is safe and memorable,” is the most rewarding aspect of his job, says White.
The former army man joined Hersheypark as a loss prevention supervisor in 2005. As part of that role, he was responsible for the park’s CCTV system, transitioning into safety and security of what is now the USA’s only independently operated top 20 amusement park.
