Aardman, the award-winning UK studio, has announced a new concept for the theme park market, in partnership with P&P Projects, the attraction design and turnkey solution specialists. There are opportunities to develop ‘A Fish Tale’ for dark rides or 4D cinema experiences.
Inspired by the cormorant fishermen of the Li River, A Fish Tale is a dramatic and funny coming-of-age adventure.
A Fish Tale is directed by Aardman’s Darren Dubicki. It follows a determined young fisherboy and his cormorant sidekick as they try to catch their first ever fish.
Their inexperience proves to be an obstacle, so much so that it could result in a catastrophic ending. Fortunately, they land the catch of their dreams.

According to Aardman, there are opportunities to develop the concept for attractions, including dark rides or 4D cinema experiences.
Ngaio Harding-Hill, head of attractions and live experiences at Aardman, said: “Aardman is delighted to be developing so many exciting projects for global theme parks and attractions and to be working with some of the most renowned partners and experts in the industry.”
Aardman’s first piece of original content for the theme park market is launching at Efteling in December. Fabula is an original 3D film with 4D effects.

Aardman continues to look for opportunities for the international distribution of its 4D film ‘The Bear and the Squirrel’, in partnership with Simex-iwerx.
The company also seeks opportunities for the distribution of dark ride concepts, Adventure Through Time and A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, developed in collaboration with Sally Dark Rides.
Aardman is a household name, known around the world for beloved characters such as Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Morph.
Earlier this year, Aardman Animations announced that Sean Clarke will succeed David Sproxton as managing director.
