Oviedo joins the studio from Nassal, in a move that will boost collaboration between the two firms

B Morrow Productions (BMP), an award-winning design and production studio, has appointed Melissa Oviedo (Ruminot) as chief business officer.

This role was established to support the firm’s rapid growth plans which build on several years of significant expansion, and will begin on 1 January 2024.

BMP plans for rapid expansion

As chief business officer, Oviedo will lead BMP’s overall business operations and expansion strategies. Her main focus will be developing collaborative relationships, extending the studio’s client base, and driving growth initiatives to support BMP’s swift expansion. Oviedo’s strong track record and in-depth industry knowledge equip her to lead B Morrow Productions into its next stage.

Brian Morrow, CEO, says: “As BMP embarks on its fifth-anniversary year, we’ve seen exceptional growth in our business, our talent, and services. We have always attracted and fostered fabulous talent, and Melissa is no exception: she’s an expert in her field and a delight to work with. She will be a key addition to guide the company into the future.”

Oviedo comments: “I am thrilled to embark on this new chapter in my career with BMP. The
opportunity to work closely with such a talented team and build upon the strong foundation that they have established over several years is truly exciting. I look forward to driving innovation, delivering exceptional experiences, and creating lasting partnerships that will propel B Morrow Productions into the future.”

Oviedo was formerly the vice president of marketing and global development at Nassal, an award-winning scenic and rockwork fabricator, a position she held for over a decade. She has been instrumental in propelling the company’s growth and success in a wide range of markets, including theme parks, zoos, aquariums, cultural, live events, and location-based entertainment.

In addition, she is president of the International Board of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), with a term that runs until 31 December 2024. BMP firmly supports her in this position, and she will continue to serve the TEA Membership and the wider sector.

This appointment will boost collaboration efforts between Nassal and B Morrow Productions, and improve their capacity to provide clients with exceptional experiences. Oviedo will transition over the coming four weeks, with a formal start date at BMP on 1 January 2024.
