Convious, a leading eCommerce platform for the leisure industry, has reached 500,000 downloads of its ‘Tap’ app, the industry software that gives a seamless and linked mobile experience to improve the guest experience before, during, and after their visit.

The Convious ‘Tap’ app empowers venues such as theme parks to personalise each visitor’s experience and become closer to their guests, while also growing reach and supporting revenue streams, all from one simple control panel.
Features include in-app messaging to deliver targeted upsell chances, GPS with geofenced in-venue crowd management, heat mapping data, access capacity control, and mobile advertising, with a customised user interface for each site.
‘Tap’ gives the ease of a single ‘e-wallet’ with automated AI-powered ticketing integration for the guest, saving everything linked with their booking in one easy location.
Creating stronger relationships
Throughout the day, guests can order food, buy items, check queue waiting times in the ‘Waiting time manager,’ and plan their day using the interactive map.

“The ‘Tap’ app empowers leisure businesses to build a stronger relationship with their customers without them having to pour resources into building an app in-house, which costs money and requires extensive ongoing maintenance in order to keep improving the user experience,” says product owner at Convious, Ronald de Groot.
“With so many apps available there needs to be a real benefit for downloading them to get this level of traction. By ensuring that our app solutions are designed with the guest in mind and have features to keep them engaged throughout their journey, we see less than a 5% deletion rate, which is very good compared to the travel industry average of 28% uninstalls.
“With a mobile app, you are directly in the pocket of your visitors which allows you to better interact and understand them. Our destination partners using Tap for mobile food ordering are seeing a transaction value increase of an average of 25%.”
Enhanced features
Convious is constantly developing the ‘Tap’ app to include new features with no additional development costs for partners. Destinations now have access to rich content blocks as part of its enhanced feature offering, as well as the option to deliver customised push alerts to their customers and easily switch between numerous site locations, maximising cross-sales opportunities.
The software can now store various ticket kinds for the consumer, making it more of a utility and recurrent requirement to use. More work is being undertaken on additional Park Map elements, so partners can now integrate seasonal content, such as Halloween or Christmas, to personalise the experience even more.
Further information on the Tap app is available on the Convious website.
Convious UK managing director Andy Povey recently presented a session titled ‘Leave Legacy Systems in the Past and Streamline Your Operations’ at IAAPA Expo in Orlando, alongside COO & co-founder Christoffer Borup, and Christian Rasmussen, CTO & partner at Mobaro.
