Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) has shared a first look at Hong Kong Disneyland’s Frozen land, and revealed that Walt Disney World’s new Moana attraction will open in late 2023.
“Imagineers are hard at work on the forthcoming World of Frozen land opening next year at Hong Kong Disneyland,” WDI wrote on Instagram.
Alongside new images of the land’s Arendelle Castle, WDI said: “Enhanced by Queen Elsa’s icy magic, the castle’s design references the Frozen films, and it is accented with icy features.”
World of Frozen
Hong Kong Disneyland’s World of Frozen will immerse guests in the sights, sounds and traditions of Arendelle. It will boast a Frozen-themed coaster called Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs.
Another attraction, Frozen Ever After, will take visitors on “a whimsical journey to visit Elsa’s Ice Palace”, according to Hong Kong Disneyland.
As previously announced, World of Frozen is opening in the second half of 2023. It is the first of three Frozen-themed areas launching at Disney’s international parks.
Disneyland Paris’ Frozen land is part of the transformation of Walt Disney Studios Park. Tokyo DisneySea is bringing the animated films to life as part of its Fantasy Springs expansion.
Journey of Water
In another Instagram post, the Imagineering team can be seen creating Journey of Water, Disney’s first attraction based on Moana.
The new experience is located in the World Nature neighbourhood of Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort. It is described as an exploration trail where guests can enjoy and play with magical, living water.
“Our Imagineers are always looking to add and refine the smallest details when bringing these experiences and spaces to life in our parks,” said WDI.
“We look forward to the opening of these new areas – including CommuniCore Plaza, CommuniCore Hall, and Journey of Water, inspired by Moana – to guests in late 2023!”
