Disney parks are adding characters and locations from Disney+ series Ahsoka, Andor, and The Mandalorian to the Star Tours attraction.
The new scenes for Star Tours, the first Star Wars attraction to open in a Disney park, will debut on 5 April at Disney World in Florida, Disneyland in California, and Disneyland Paris.
With the new additions, guests will experience one of more than 250 storyline variations on the Star Tours ride, including a trip to the planet Peridea from the Ahsoka series.
Additionally, urgent transmissions from characters like Ahsoka Tano, Cassian Andor, Din Djarin and Grogu could be part of the ride experience, Disney said in a blog post.
Star Tours opened at Disneyland in 1987. It has been updated to include new destinations and characters over the years. The most recent is inspired by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
The latest worlds for Star Tours were teased last year by Walt Disney Imagineering‘s portfolio creative executive Scott Trowbridge.
“We work hard to create all of these experiences for you because… we’re Star Wars fans, too,” Trowbridge said.
“We look forward to the places we’ll go and the stories we can explore together next. So hopefully I’ll see you somewhere out there on the hyperspace routes,” he added.
New investments at Disney parks
In more news, Disney CEO Bob Iger recently spoke about the company’s plans to invest $60 billion in its parks and experiences over the next decade.
“We’re already hard at work determining where we’re going to place our new investments and what they will be,” he said in a post-earnings call.
“We’ve got a menu of things that will basically start opening in 2025, and there will be a cadence every year of additional investment and increased capacity,” Iger added.
