Disney has shared another sneak peek of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, opening this week at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida.
Disney revealed nine new details about Rise of the Resistance during ABC’s TV special, ‘The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration’ (via The Orange County Register).
The behind-the-scenes footage showed visitors experiencing the ride, as well as droids, stormtroopers, explosions, and Kylo Ren.
Disney later released another video with some of the same scenes, but featuring Disney’s ‘Volunteer Family of the Year’, who enjoyed the ride ahead of its opening.

As revealed in the TV special, Rise of the Resistance will feature digital holoscreens of the Star Wars universe as guests queue. In the ‘Ready Room’, riders will meet BB-8.
Cast members in Resistance battle gear will then direct visitors to their ‘Transport Ship’, where they’ll meet Admiral Ackbar.
While passing through the Star Destroyer hangar bay, guests will see animatronic stormtroopers. They will also encounter an Imperial probe droid in the hallway.
In addition, the ride will include a battle as stormtroopers fire blaster rifles, while Star Destroyer laser cannons will shoot over the heads of visitors.
Riders will meet Star Wars’ BB-8 and Admiral Ackbar
Finally, TIE fighters and battle scenes play out on projection screens as riders locate an escape pod.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of Walt Disney Imagineering’s most ambitious and advanced project’s yet, combining multiple ride systems and a new simulator experience.
The new attraction is opening on December 5, 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, and on January 17, 2020 at Disneyland in California.
In more intergalactic news, an immersive two-night hotel experience called Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is heading to Walt Disney World.
