The first Pixar-themed hotel in the US now offers Pixel Pool

Disneyland has unveiled the new Finding Nemo and Finding Dory-themed features at its upcoming Pixar Place Hotel, which will replace the resort’s Paradise Pier Hotel.

The first Pixar-themed hotel in the US now offers Pixel Pool, which includes the Nemo’s Cove water play area with a splash pad featuring Hank the septopus from Finding Dory.

Opened today (1 August), Pixel Pool also includes the Crush’s Surfin’ Slide waterslide, which is inspired by Finding Nemo‘s surfing sea turtle.

The new Pixar elements are part of the hotel’s transformation into Pixar Place, which will open later this year.

The hotel’s lobby will include iconic images from Pixar films, as well as the Pixar lamp on top of its ball with a colourful character-inspired mobile hanging above it.

Disneyland Paris’ new Coco restaurant

Pixar Place’s new family play court will offer interactive activities and games based on Pixar’s short films such as La Luna, Bao, For the Birds and Burrow. An F&B area will include the umbrellas from The Blue Umbrella.

This month, Disney California Adventure is opening the new San Fransokyo Square area from Disney’s 2014 film Big Hero 6. The resort is also working with James Cameron on an Avatar experience.

Elsewhere, Disneyland Paris has opened its new Coco-themed restaurant. Casa de Coco – Restaurante de Familia is home to a bronze statue of Miguel, colorful papel picados, Héctor’s guitar, and portraits of family members.

Smellephants on Parade at Magic Kingdom

As for Disney World, Magic Kingdom is set to open a new interactive experience called Smellephants on Parade, described as a family-friendly “search and sniff” adventure.
