Disneyland Paris has shared new details for its upcoming ride based on The Lion King and announced a new Up attraction.
The Lion King-themed additions at Disneyland Paris are part of a €2 billion expansion plan for Walt Disney Studios Park, which will become Disney Adventure World in 2026.
Construction will begin this autumn on the first-ever land themed to the 1994 animated film, as well as the new attraction.
The water ride will feature advanced audio-animatronics technology and state-of-the-art special effects.
Additionally, it will be one of Disneyland Paris‘ biggest attractions, offering three slopes including a 52-foot-high descent.
During the ride experience, guests will find themselves in the heart of the the Pride Lands, joining Simba for a musical adventure.
Disneyland Paris’ €2bn transformation
After making their way to the caves beneath the 120-foot-high Pride Rock, riders will embark on a journey through iconic scenes from the movie.
As for the immersive land, there will be themed dining, shopping and character interactions.
Disneyland Paris has also announced a new family-friendly attraction themed to Up. This will be located across from the new Tangled-themed ride, Raiponce Tangled Spin.
The spinning carousel based on Up will provide a bird’s-eye view of the park’s scenery. It will be the first attraction at a Disney park to be themed to the 2009 film.
Construction will begin on this by the end of this year.

Walt Disney Imagineering is putting the finishing touches on the North Mountain and programming state-of-the-art audio-animatronics inside the Frozen Ever After attraction.
Disneyland Paris is also working on its new park entrance, which will reopen as World Premiere on 15 May.
