Disneyland Paris‘ €2 billion transformation of Walt Disney Studios Park is underway, with work now taking place at the park’s entrance.
Walt Disney Studios Park is undergoing a huge redevelopment and nearly doubling in size. It will become Disney Adventure World when the new World of Frozen land opens in 2026.
As part of the rebrand, the park is overhauling its entrance area. Walt Disney Imagineering has now installed a new façade and marquee on the former ‘Disney Studio 1’ building near the gates, which will reopen as ‘World Premiere’ in 2025.
Walt Disney Imagineering wrote on Instagram alongside new images: “Imagineers have recently installed the Disney Theater façade and marquee, weighing in at three tons – about the size of a baby blue whale.
“This new addition inside World Premiere at Disneyland Paris is set to dazzle guests when it debuts in spring 2025, welcoming guests to a glitzy film premiere in the heart of Hollywood.”
When Walt Disney Studios Park opened in 2002, the original idea was to provide a behind-the-scenes look at filmmaking. Over the years, the concept has evolved to focus on immersive worlds.
New concept for Disney’s French park
“Disney Adventure World will be the culmination of an ambitious creative vision, evolving from what we call ‘how it’s done’ soundstages to celebratory theatres and adventures that come to life in immersive areas,” Natacha Rafalski, présidente of Disneyland Paris, told blooloop in a recent interview.
She added: “In spring 2025, that creative vision will reach the park’s entrance when our entrance building reopens as World Premiere, inviting guests into a glamorous film premiere in the heart of Hollywood before arriving in the full splendour of the park.”
As announced at Disney’s D23 fan event this year, Walt Disney Studios Park is also creating a new attraction and immersive area inspired by The Lion King (1994).
