Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will follow later this year

Disneyland is reopening its Winnie the Pooh ride and the Pooh Corner candy shop today (29 August) as part of its transformation of the Critter Country land.

The Many Adventures of Winnie Pooh is a dark ride with beehive vehicles based on the stories by A.A. Milne and the 1977 film of the same name.

It is part of Critter Country at Disneyland, which closed on 1 May. The land will become Bayou Country with the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on 15 November.

Although the Winnie the Pooh attraction is reopening, the rest of Critter Country will remain closed, including the former Hungry Bear Restaurant, which will become the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree.

In addition to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Bayou Country will house two new shops inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ The Princess and the Frog.

Formerly the Briar Patch, Ray’s Berets will sell headwear, apparel, accessories and toys, and Louis’ Critter Club (located in the other half of the Pooh Corner building) will offer apparel, accessories and home decor.

In September, Disneyland opened Tiana’s Palace, a new F&B outlet based on Tiana’s dream restaurant in the film. This came after the launch of Eudora’s Chic Boutique featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets.

New experiences at Disneyland

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened last month at Walt Disney World in Florida. The new attraction replaced the former Splash Mountain log flume ride

Set a year after the events of the film, the ride features dozens of audio-animatronics figures, a new soundtrack, and an exhilarating 50-foot drop.

In more Disneyland news, the resort is developing new experiences inspired by Marvel, the Avatar franchise, and Coco.
