New park will include a Shenron statue containing a large-scale coaster

Saudi Arabia’s Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) is building the world’s first Dragon Ball theme park as part of the kingdom’s Qiddiya giga-project.

Via a press release from the Dragon Ball franchise owners, the new theme park will cover an area of more than 500,000 square metres within Qiddiya City.

It will house seven different areas themed to iconic locations from the original series, like Kame House, Capsule Corporation, and Beerus’s Planet.

Guests will embark on an adventure with magical martial artist Goku and friends in the Dragon Ball universe, from the original manga through to the Dragon Ball Super TV series (2015-2018).

The theme park will feature more than 30 attractions, including five state-of-the-art rides. Also, a 70-metre-high figure of Shenron, the magical dragon from the Dragon Ball series, containing a large-scale roller coaster is planned for the site.

In addition, the Dragon Ball-themed destination will include hotels and restaurants.

“Get ready to immerse yourself in the world’s only Dragon Ball theme park, just in Qiddiya City,” says the Qiddiya website.

Interactive Dragon Ball-themed areas

It adds: “On a scale never imagined before, the park’s interactive and explorable themed experiences will allow you to live the adventures at the heart of the action, experiencing the journey from the first Dragon Ball series to the latest Dragon Ball Super.”

Last last year, Qiddiya City was unveiled. The giga-project’s first phase will be a place for entertainment, sports and culture.

Highlights in Qiddiya City will include a gaming and esports district, the Speed Park Track, golf courses, a water park, and Six Flags Qiddiya.

Qiddiya, a multibillion-dollar entertainment destination, is set to be the world’s largest entertainment city – even surpassing Walt Disney World in Florida.
