Gateway Ticketing Systems’ Southern California User Group Meeting a Resounding Success

News

Over 70 Gateway Ticketing Systems users gathered in San Diego for the seventh annual Southern California User Group Meeting from February 11 – 12, 2013. The event was hosted by the USS Midway and included attendees from 16 customer sites. The meeting, nicknamed the SoCal UGM, focused on the needs and challenges specific to the southern California area and was organized and led by the SoCal User Community.

Luis Almonte, IT Systems Architect at the Discovery Science Center and a presenter at the event pointed out how important the annual gathering is: “It’s great to see so many organizations, both for- and non-profit, look for ways to collaborate and learn from each other in order to use Galaxy® in more efficient ways. The SoCal UGM has become almost as important for us as an organization as the annual UGM — especially as we are able to send Galaxy users from various departments that would normally not be able to go to the week-long event.”

Agenda topics included presentations on Fraud Control, 3rd Party Integrations and Using Mobile Technology to Enhance Your Ticketing System, among others. Participants also had the opportunity to take part in roundtable discussions on marketing, finance and group sales. Gateway Ticketing Systems Director of Product, Marcus Lopez, was one of several Gateway employees in attendance: “It is fantastic to see our regional user group meetings continue to expand, especially over the past three years. Customers now have access to user group meetings in various corners of the globe including the US, Europe and the Middle East. These are exciting events that provide us essential face-time with our customers, valuable product feedback and give our users the opportunity to network and learn from each other.”

The management and employees of Gateway Ticketing Systems extend their thanks to the organizers and attendees at the SoCal User Group Meetings for their participation, and look forward to next year’s user conferences.
