Ghibli Park unveils Ghibli's Grand Warehouse in new pictures

Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse is home to a cinema, playgrounds, shops, cafés and immersive exhibits.

Ghibli Park has unveiled the exhibits and experiences on offer at Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse when the first-ever theme park dedicated to Studio Ghibli opens later this year.

Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse an indoor area of the attraction, described as "a large warehouse full of Ghibli secrets". It is home to a small cinema, playgrounds, shops, cafés and immersive exhibits.


Cinema Orion will screen 10 short animation films produced by Studio Ghibli. Until now, these films were only shown at the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka.

Highlights at Ghibli's Grand Warehouse include the train from Spirited Away, with visitors able to sit next to No-Face, as well as an expanded version of the Ghibli Museum's 'Drawing Eating' exhibition.

In addition, Ghibli Park has revealed the redesigned Catbus fromMy Neighbor Totoro, which will be located within a playgroundat Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse.

Ghibli Park's first threethemed lands, Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, Dondoko Forest and Hill of Youth, open to the public on 1 November. Mononoke Village and Valley of Witches launch in fall 2023 and March 2024.

Tickets for the new attraction go on sale on the 10th of each month throughBoo-Woo Ticket. Ghibli Park will limit daily attendance within each of its themed lands.

Immersive exhibits and experiences

Ghibli Park is inspired by anime classics such asMy Neighbor Totoro,Kiki’s Delivery Service, Spirited Away,Castle in the Sky, andPrincess Mononoke.

The $323 milliondestinationis located in the Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park. It is expected to attract around 1.8 million visitors each year.

Last month, Ghibli Park released a new trailer directed and animated by Studio Ghibli co-founderHayao Miyazaki. The clip features several popular characters, including Totoro and Mei fromMy Neighbor Totoroand the Radish Spirit fromSpirited Away.
