Halloween is back at Disneyland Resort, with foolish mortals enjoying eerie experiences, dreadful décor, menacing merchandise and frightening F&B.
At Disneyland, the Haunted Mansion features its annual overlay inspired by Tim Burton‘s The Nightmare Before Christmas. The new design includes “some mischievous cookies who have stolen their way into Sandy Claws’ festivities in the ballroom”.
The theme park’s popular characters are wearing new ‘homemade’ costumes for the spooky season. Mickey Mouse is dressed as a jack-o’-lantern, Minnie Mouse as a witch, Goofy as a haunted apple tree and Donald Duck as a candy corn.

In addition, a projection and special effects show called ‘Halloween Screams’ is an “eerily extraordinary experience” that can be viewed throughout Disneyland.
Plaza de la Familia is taking place at Disney California Adventure through 2 November, bringing Disney and Pixar’s Coco to life and offering entertainment and experiences inspired by Día de los Muertos.
Also at Disney California Adventure, Radiator Springs in Cars Land has become Radiator Screams, and the huge Headless Horseman statue can be found on Buena Vista Street.
Disney adds Haunted Mansion voices to TikTok
Over in the Downtown Disney District from 9 September, visitors can take part in Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit and more fearsome experiences.
For Disney fans who can’t make it to the parks, TikTok video text can now be read by the Haunted Mansion’s Madame Leota and Ghost Host, or by a pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Elsewhere, Universal Studios Hollywood’s ‘Terror Tram’ attraction for Halloween Horror Nights 2022 includes a crossover experience featuring Jordan Peele‘s blockbuster movies, Nope and Us.
Halloween is available at Disneyland Resort through 31 October.
