Universal Orlando to offer “a new slate of frights and nightmare-inducing terror

Halloween is starting in August this year at Universal Orlando, with Halloween Horror Nights beginning earlier than ever before.

Halloween Horror Nights returns to Universal Studios Florida on select nights from 30 August through 3 November.

Universal Studios Florida is yet to announce the event’s haunted houses and scare zones, but the park promises “a new slate of frights and nightmare-inducing terror at every corner”.

“This year, a chilling new collection of horrifying experiences await guests, including 10 all-new movie-quality haunted houses inspired by cinematic greats and eerie original stories created by the twisted minds of Universal’s entertainment team, and five scare zones filled with hundreds of menacing creatures who will reign the streets of Universal Studios Florida,” the park said in a press release.

In addition, there will be a live show, themed merchandise, and F&B inspired by the event‘s experiences.

Halloween Horror Nights is now an iconic seasonal experience. Universal is even creating a year-round horror attraction inspired by the event at Area15 in Las Vegas. The new venue is Universal’s first permanent horror experience outside of its parks.

New movie-quality haunted houses

In a recent interview with blooloop, Area15 CEO Winston Fisher said the spine-chilling site is going to be “incredible and standout”.

John Murdy, creative director of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, spoke to blooloop about the burgeoning trend for horror experiences.

“It’s high thrills. We’ll just stand at the exit of one of our haunted houses and just watch what happens. It’s a great way to experience how your guests are enjoying the experience,” he said. “You’ll see people come out and they’re screaming and then they immediately start laughing. To me, that’s the classic release of adrenaline.”
