Netflix’s Korean horror series to feature at Halloween Horror Nights

For this year’s Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Studios Singapore is opening a haunted house based on Netflix’s K-horror series Sweet Home.

The Sweet Home-themed experience is Universal Studios Singapore’s third collaboration with streaming giant Netflix.

It comes after last year’s haunted house inspired by hit zombie series All of Us Are Dead, and a Stranger Things-themed haunted house in 2018.

The theme park at Resorts World Sentosa is hosting its 12th edition of Halloween Horror Nights from 27 September through 2 November.

The Sweet Home attraction will immerse visitors in the series, with recreated locations like Hyun-su’s apartment and the basement in the Green Home complex.

Markham Gannon, director of entertainment at Resorts World Sentosa, said: “Every haunted house experience is our creative spin on the source material while staying true to its essence, and Sweet Home is no exception.

“Korean horror is something that resonates well with our fans and we can’t wait to take Halloween Horror Nights to new, frightful heights.”

Sweet Home is an apocalyptic horror TV series starring Song KangLee Jin-wook, and Lee Si-young. The third and final season arrives on Netflix on 19 July.

In more news, Netflix is opening its first Netflix House permanent venues for immersive entertainment in shopping malls in Texas and Pennsylvania in 2025.

Universal is also developing a year-round horror experience at Area15 in Las Vegas. Called Universal Horror Unleashed, the new site will include similar attractions to those on offer at Universal’s parks during Halloween Horror Nights.
