New images have been released of an abandoned theme park north of Tokyo that recall 1970's horror movie, Westworld.

The film, starring Yul Bryner, was reimagined in the recent HBOsci-fi television series.

Orignally opened as Kinugawa Family Ranch, the theme park was later rebranded as Western Village. It featured animatronic cowboys including a figure of Hollywood legend, John Wayne.

The park closed its doors in 2006.
