This year’s Kyoorius Designyatra event was held from 29-31 August at Goa’s Grand Hyatt Hotel, India. The event was themed ‘Create Change’ attracting high-profile presenters including BARTKRESA design, The Moment Factory and Facebook.

Kyoorius Designyatra is one of the top five annual design conferences. Ensuring its success, event partner Engineered Production looked no further than Video Design, Dataton Premium Partner forIndia to provide technical video products and services including WATCHOUT™ multi-image display and presentation software to manage content across multiple displays. At the end of BARTKRESA Design’s presentation on Video Mapping, both Bart Kresa and Vijay Sabhlok at Video Design demonstrated how WATCHOUT can be used to do amazing things with video projections. The session received standing ovations from the audience.

Create Change

“The 'Create Change' theme pushed the envelope and challenged professionals to use design as a tool to create real change – change that'sbeyond the aesthetic, ” said Rajesh Kejriwal, founder and CEO, Kyoorius.

"The event was a tremendous success thanks to the amazing services completed by our event partners, Engineered Production and Video Design.

“Using large-format displays proved vital in educating, informing and telling the story of communication and design to packed audiences of over 1, 350 design professionals, " added Kejriwal.

We make it happen

Understanding the client brief and requirements, Jasjeet Singh, director at Engineered Productions said: “We immediately agreed to use WATCHOUT multi-image display and presentation software to enable larger than life presentations and big wow factor.”

EngineeredProduction and Video Design delivered a solution comprising an impressive 9 x 40 feet wide central front-projection screen (4800 x 1080 pixels) using an array of projectiondesign® F32 series projectors. An additional two 12 x 7.5 feet wide vertical rear-projection screens were positioned on each side (1080 x 1920 pixels) using Christie® HD10K-M digital projectors.

“Despite being a simple and straightforward installation, it did have its technical challenges including the combination different formats and resolutions as well as multiple data capture. In addition, live updates and twitter feeds were required to be shown at the end of every presentation, ” explained Vijay Sabhlok, managing partner at Video Design.
“WATCHOUT played a central role and thanks to its ingenuity and flexibility we could achieve a lot in the limited time we had.”

BARTKRESA design is internationally renowned for delivering unique projection designs to large corporations, movie studios, and multimedia conglomerates, including Oprah Winfrey, Paramount Pictures, the Grammy Awards, HBO, General Motors, Warner Brothers, FOX, and ABC.

Adding to the vibrancy and ‘wow factor’ of the entire event, Video Design provided WATCHOUT and Christie® projectors that were used by BARTKRESA Design to map video onto a pyramid shaped structure in the foyer of Goa’s Grand Hyatt (see header image top). The pyramid greeted visitors to the event and showcased the potential of video installation art.

Lars Sandlund, chief operating officer at Dataton concluded: “WATCHOUT is the perfect tool for designers and creative professionals to use to manage multiple video displays, audio, live video feeds and much more. We’re delighted that our trusted Premium Partner, Video Design has been so integral in this event using our technology. We look forward to future education hosted by Video Design in India to enrich, enthral and educate video professionals.”
