Leisure Development Partners (LDP), a leading economic and strategy consulting firm, has published the second edition of The Experience Economist with a specific focus on the European market.
Natalia Bakhlina, partner at LDP, says: “Europe has evolved from what was once seen as a relatively stagnant attractions market into a vibrant hub of creativity and innovation, influencing concepts adopted worldwide.
“While global benchmarks are essential, zooming in on regional and sub-regional trends is crucial. That’s exactly what our Experience Economist series delivers.”

Official launch in Barcelona
Released to coincide with IAAPA Expo Europe 2025, The Experience Economist: Europe Edition provides a comprehensive analysis of the visitor attractions industry in the region, including market scale, economic impact, trends, and development opportunities.
The analysis, based on LDP’s unique data and extensive global knowledge, analyses the volume, value, and impact of theme parks and water parks across Europe.
IAAPA Expo Europe 2025 is taking place in Barcelona next week. Attendees are invited to visit LDP’s booth, #2-164, at 11 am on 24 September for the publication’s official launch.
“The attractions industry thrives on creativity, but decisions must be grounded in evidence,” says Michael Collins, senior partner at LDP. “With The Experience Economist, we’re not only tracking trends, we’re translating them into actionable insights that empower leaders to make confident, future-focused choices.”
The Experience Economist series is available for free on the LDP website and offers regionally focused editions to help developers, investors, and operators make informed decisions based on international benchmarks and specific local conditions.
In June, LDP launched The Experience Economist series of reports and released its first edition, The Experience Economist: APAC Edition. Centred on the vibrant Asia-Pacific region, this offers exclusive insights into development activities, investment trends, visitor behaviours, and emerging industry trends.
