Paramount Global has announced that Pam Kaufman will take on the role of president of consumer products and experiences, overseeing the company’s live experiences such as hotels, resorts and theme parks.

Kaufman will lead the consumer products business, which represents more than $5.5bn in worldwide retail revenue. She will also oversee tours, Broadway, VidCon and gaming.

She will continue to report to Brian Robbins, president and CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon and chief content officer of kids and family at Paramount+, as well as Raffaele Annecchino, president and CEO of Paramount international networks, studios and streaming.

“Pam is a dynamic and authentic leader who deeply understands the consumer,” Robbins said. “Her engaging and strategic approach will create innovative consumer touchpoints offering fans even more access to experiences with our franchises and characters.”

“The consumer products business has grown exponentially under Pam’s leadership and we’re thrilled to expand Pam’s global role to encompass more ways our fans can experience our brands and IP,” said Annecchino.

Kaufman to oversee live experiences

“Pam is a visionary who leads with compassion, has boundless energy and is a unifying presence for our business across our global markets.”

“By placing these consumer experiences within the Paramount global portfolio under Kaufman, the company is continuing to align its leadership with the strategy of further connecting its beloved and iconic franchises with fans,” Paramount said.

Paramount also announced its launch into NFTs “in a collaborative cross-functional effort driven by consumer products, to bring some of the biggest Paramount’s franchises and beloved characters to the metaverse”.

Last year, Chinese authorities announced that an $8bn Paramount-branded theme park resort is being constructed in southwestern Yunnan province’s capital city Kunming.

Paramount is also creating a theme park in Southeast Asia. Located in Bali, it is expected to soft launch in 2025. In addition, Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment is developing a Paramount theme park at the Inspire Korea integrated resort (IR).
