Firm worked on two new features at the show park, Le Mime et L’Etoile and Le Mystère de La Pérouse

Petro Art Production, a leader in artificial rockwork for themed attractions, has shared details of a recent collaboration with Puy du Fou, France.

The firm created the artificial rockwork for two new areas in the iconic show park. Petro Art Production crafted a new exterior for the MIMO theatre, which features the new show Le Mime et L’Etoile, and shotcrete theming for the Le Mystère de La Pérouse interactive experience.

Petro Art Production was asked to enhance the exterior of the MIMO theatre, which is the venue for Le Mime et L’Etoile, a show which is new for 2023.

The show begins with audience members being invited to watch a silent black-and-white movie being made and view the stage as if through the camera lens. As the camera rolls a love story unfolds, with a dramatic plot twist, and the audience is drawn deeper into the show’s world. This is enhanced by a revolving stage, which is suggestive of a roll of film, fantastic costumes and impressive special effects.

To enhance the theatre exterior, Petro Art Production created a new brick facade which is in keeping with the unique historical theme of the Puy du Fou park. Each brick was carefully hand-carved, and the exterior was then finished with vintage show posters.

Han Kuijpers, business development manager, says: “We were happy to be able to match Puy Du Fou’s high standard of immersive environments and we are really looking forward to the next collaboration with this amazing park.”

Petro Art Production also worked on the interactive experience Le Mystère de La Pérouse, which includes a water tunnel with a hand-carved cave. The ride offers an innovative mix of theming and technology to create a sailing adventure, where visitors explore dangerous, unchartered waters by boat.

Vanessa Maudet, directrice de spectacles Puy du Fou, comments: “Thank you and Bravo. The result of your work is fantastic.”

Petro Art Production was recently commissioned to help bring to life the new Avalon-themed area at Attractiepark Toverland in the Netherlands, in partnership with Themics Philippines Inc.
