A world leader in AR experiences, Red Frog Digital attracted eager crowds to its Zombie Holomaze Experience at VRLA 2018.
Attendees were happy to queue for up to two hours to experience the attraction, which proved among the highlights of the world’s largest immersive technology festival.
After donning an AR headset, brave participants were on their own, with no idea of what to expect. With jump-scares aplenty, they were faced with zombies at every turn, some bursting out of the floor, others lurching at them through walls.
Describing the Zombie Holomaze as a cross between a horror maze and an escape room, Red Frog Digital has created the small-footprint solution for venues such as theme parks and malls – anywhere looking to refresh their offering with a horror attraction. The company also points out that one of the key benefits of an AR solution is that there’s no need to hire and train live actors.
‘It was awesome,’ enthused one of the participants at VRLA. ‘It has a lot of potential for future horror experiences. I think part of the suspense is not knowing where things are.”
