New online store on Tmall will sell merchandise exclusively found at Shanghai Disney.

Shanghai Disneyland has launched an official flagship store on Tmall, offering Shanghai Disney Resort’s first online shopping destination.

“We are very appreciative of our passionate guests and fans for their strong affinity for Shanghai Disney Resort, and their lasting love for our experiences and products,” said Joe Schott, president and general manager of Shanghai Disney Resort.

“We continue to leverage new technologies and platforms to further elevate the guest shopping experience.”

Tmall is an official sponsor of Shanghai Disney Resort. During the current trial period, the flagship store will offer toys, apparel, accessories, souvenirs, homeware, and more merchandise exclusively found at the park.

The selection of products will expand following the online shop’s official opening later this summer. The launch comes after the opening the Disney Home Store at Disneytown.

The Disney Home Store is the first-ever homeware shop at a Disney resort in China. It sells home furnishings, tableware, loungewear, ornaments and gifts.

“The opening of our new flagship store on Tmall and introduction of additional online and offline shopping experiences will provide guests and fans with even more products and convenient shopping options,” Schott said.

“Immersive shopping environments will continue to be an irreplaceable experience during a visit to Shanghai Disney Resort,” says a news release.

Shanghai Disney’s first online shop

Shanghai Disneyland reopened to the public at limited capacity on 30 June after closing on 21 March due to the pandemic.

In October 2021, more than 30,000 visitors were locked inside the park and tested for Covid-19 by Chinese government officials.

Shanghai Disney is also introducing an exclusive draw for special merchandise on the resort’s official app, with trial operations starting on 15 August.

The draw will “further elevate guest comfort and convenience by providing guests an equal chance to enter the store and purchase highly popular products on any given day”, says Shanghai Disney Resort.
