Innovative dark ride technologies will be brought to the capital

Simworx, the dynamic media attractions specialist, will showcase its AGV Dark Ride at a leading European trade show next month.

As the focal point of booth #1728 this year, Simworx will be unveiling Overdrive, its new chase experience AGV ride concept. The firm will also be sharing its brand new Flying Theatre Concept as well as its Ferrari X midway media attractions.

Using a dynamic trackless ride system, the AGV’s unique abilities will be displayed at the show, as part of a new concept designed in collaboration with Katapult, the international guest experience design agency.

“Overdrive will provide an example of the limits to which dark rides can be pushed in 2022, delivering an adrenaline-fuelled chase around the metropolis as riders role-play as either cops or robbers,” says Simworx.

Range of concepts

The Pegasus Flying Theatre provides a solution for smaller footprint venues, a new concept that offers a scalable attraction that immerses guests with on-screen action in a thrilling way. Guests sit down and lean forward against a front restraint, with their feet dangling on either side, similar to a motorbike riding position. The dynamic seat positioning suits a range of storylines including jet bikes, space rockets or flying creatures.

Other media-based attractions will be promoted on the booth including Simworx’s Immersive Tunnels, Stargazers and Flying Theatres, with staff on hand to demonstrate how these have been incorporated into the unique Ferrari Experience midway media-attraction concept.

Reconnecting with peers

Members of the Simworx team attending IAAPA Expo Europe include CEO Terry Monkton, COO Andy Roberts, global business development manager Paul Kent, sales manager Rafael Smith, sales co-ordinator Claire Monkton, lead creative Matt Clarkson, digital content producer Nicole Sangster, and after-sales co-ordinator Tracy Challis.

Monkton says: “We are enthusiastic that visitors to the show are going love seeing one of our AGVs up close and in person, and how we have designed it to work to maximise the class-leading features that it provides.

“We are very much looking forward to meeting with our valued clients, suppliers, and media and theme park design partners during the show, and hopefully some new prospective clients, as we re-connect with our industry peers in our home country.”

Attendees can pre-book a meeting with Simworx colleagues by emailing in advance.

Simworx recently installed two new dark rides at Ba Na Hills, Vietnam. The flying airship rides are mounted on dynamic motion bases and were custom-designed for the park.
