Six Flags Great America opening new DC Universe area next month

DC Universe is a new themed section of Six Flags Great America that features three reimagined attractions.

Six Flags Great America has teamed up with Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment and DC on the new DC Universe area, opening on 15 April.

DC Universe is a themed section of Six Flags Great America that features three reimagined attractions – The Flash: Vertical Velocity, Aquaman Splashdown and DC Super-Villains Swing.

The Flash: Vertical Velocity is a launch coaster, while Aquaman Splashdown is a flume ride with a watery plunge. DC Super-Villains Swing is a thrilling spinning attraction.

Additionally, DC Universe includes Batman The Ride and The Joker Free-Fly Coaster. The new area is located in the former Yankee Harbor section of Six Flags Great America.

Reimagined DC-themed rides

DC Universe also offers new dining and retail experiences, as well as photo opportunities with iconic DC characters. New F&B outlets are the Steelworks Pub, Gotham City Snacks, Central City Snacks and Captain Cold Ice Cream.

“Six Flags Great America prides itself on bringing guests new, innovative and thrilling experiences each season,” said park president John Krajnak.

“DC Universe is the largest and most exciting park enhancement in recent memory.”

“This newly branded area brings together some of DC’s most iconic superheroes and super-villains for an exhilarating and immersive experience,” Krajnak added.

Elsewhere, Six Flags Darien Lake in New York is changing the name of its Splashtown water park to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor for the 2022 season, and is also opening the new Wahoo Wave waterslide.

DC Universe at Six Flags Great America will debut on 15 April. Elsewhere, Miral has opened the world’s first Warner Bros. hotel, The WB Abu Dhabi, adjacent to Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi on Yas Island.
