The Hettema Group (THG), designers and producers of experiential attractions around the world, has announced new appointments as part of an overall company expansion.
Anthony Pruett has been promoted to Senior Vice President, assuming a leading role in the overall direction and management of the company. Phil Hettema, THG President, said, "Anthony has been a key part of building our team and is responsible for much of the success we've seen on recent projects. I look forward to working with him as we undertake a new slate of exciting and challenging projects and continue to expand the company.”
John Polk has been appointed Vice President, Technical Design and Development. John joins THG from Fountain People where he served as Executive Vice President. Prior to this he spent many years at Walt Disney Imagineering where he worked on attractions including the “World of Color” nighttime spectacular at Disney’s California Adventure, Tokyo Disney Sea park-wide special effects, Disney’s “Expedition Everest, ” “Ariel’s Grotto, ” Sea World’s “One Ocean, ” “Blue Horizons, ” and “Manta-The Ride.” At THG John will be responsible for all show system and technical design for projects worldwide.
Diane Michioka has joined THG as a Senior Show Producer. Diane worked in creative management at Walt Disney Imagineering and spent six years as the Director of the Disneyland Design Studio. She has also executed independent projects for Disney’s California Adventure and Harry Potter themed attractions.
Recent projects that THG has designed and produced include the “High Roller” in Las Vegas, Nevada, the world’s tallest observation wheel, which opened in March 2014, and the One World Observatory experience in the new World Trade Center building in New York City, set to open in May 2015.
Commenting on the appointments, Hettema concludes, "The addition of these talented individuals brings even more experience and expertise to our exceptional in-house team as we continue the exciting new expansion of The Hettema Group.”
