THG, a creative agency specialising in developing attractions for theme parks, museums and brands, has promoted William Alton Ortega to executive creative director, senior director of design.
Alton has more than 25 years’ experience in the theme park, hospitality, retail and restaurant industries.
He has served as the design team lead on global projects including Jurassic World – The Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood and Aquaventure at Atlantis the Palm in Dubai.
Additionally, Alton was vice president of design for Paramount Pictures’ theme parks division, where he oversaw the creative and design development of all US and international elements of recreation and hospitality for the company.

He also led multiple R&D projects, including virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) entertainment experiences based on Paramount films.
Alton has worked with major game companies to develop next-generation gamified experiences for theme parks.
He worked as a creative consultant and concept designer for Walt Disney Imagineering, developing attractions for Disney’s parks in California, Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

With THG, Alton recently led the creative development for the redesigned Fiesta Village at Knott’s Berry Farm, working in collaboration with Cedar Fair’s experience design studio and the team at Knott’s.
THG has worked for clients including Universal Creative, Walt Disney Imagineering, DreamWorks, Sony, Paramount and Nickelodeon.
