Fantasy Springs, the eighth themed port at Tokyo DisneySea, will open in spring 2024.

Tokyo Disney Resort has announced a new opening date for Tokyo DisneySea‘s Fantasy Springs expansion, and shared the names of the Peter Pan, Tangled and Frozen-themed areas.

Fantasy Springs, the eighth themed port at Tokyo DisneySea, will open in spring 2024. Its three themed areas are called Frozen Kingdom, Rapunzel’s Forest and Peter Pan’s Never Land.

Additionally, the $2.2 billion port will feature a new hotel called Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel, located near the magical spring in Fantasy Springs.

Construction progress at Fantasy Springs

Frozen Kingdom, according to Tokyo Disney, is set after the events of Disney’s Frozen. Queen Elsa has embraced her powers and Arendelle has returned to its former glory.

The area features snowcapped mountains, cascading waterfalls, and Elsa’s ice palace. There will be one attraction and one restaurant.

Rapunzel’s Forest brings to life Disney’s 2010 film Tangled. Rapunzel’s tower overlooks the forest, which is illuminated by lanterns. This area is also home to one restaurant and one attraction.

Peter Pan’s Never Land is, as the name suggests, based on the fictional island of Neverland. Guests will get to explore a pirate ship, dine in a secret hideaway and visit Pixie Hollow. It offers one restaurant, two attractions and one shop.

Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel will feature paintings of Disney princesses and have 419 ‘deluxe’ rooms and 56 ‘luxury’ rooms.

Tokyo Disney Resort has also shared new drone footage revealing the construction progress of each area, which you can watch above.

Oriental Land Co. (OLC) previously announced that Fantasy Springs would open in 2023. In a statement, OLC said the opening date has changed “due to the extension of the project’s construction period”.

This was “impacted by delay in productions overseas, as well as restrictions placed on
logistics and border measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19″.
