Ride at Lagoon Park in Utah features an innovative blaster concept, alternate paths and multiple story twists

Triotech, an award-winning creator of media-based attractions, is celebrating the opening of Primordial, an interactive dark coaster at Lagoon Park in Utah.

The Primordial attraction has been created in collaboration with Lagoon Amusement Park and other specialists in the sector. The innovative attraction is a 3-level roller coaster mixed with an interactive dark ride which includes eight media-based scenes and an alternate ending narration.

Alternate paths encourage repeat visits

The in-house studio, engineering, and R&D teams at Triotech worked on the ride, which is more than 71,000 square feet (6,600 m2) in size. The project scope included design, narrative, show, theming, audio, and special effects, as well as the creation of an original blaster concept that can endure the turns, drops, and twists of the roller coaster.

Ernest Yale, president and CEO of Triotech, says: “Primordial is pushing the boundaries of the dark coaster concept. We’ve included interactivity, pushed the immersion to an astonishing level and most importantly, we’ve included alternate paths as well as multiple different story twists. These different endings will keep guests guessing, and of course, keep them coming back to the ride to experience all its variants.”

Dustin Allen, director of engineering at Lagoon Amusement Park, adds: “Lagoon has enjoyed the excellent, productive working relationship with Triotech from concept design and storyline development to feature installation and integration with the ride and theming components of the attraction.

“The Primordial interactive dark ride roller coaster opened to outstanding reviews and continues to exceed our guests’ expectations. We appreciate the vision and association of Triotech to make our totally unique design a fabulous reality.”

The ride takes guests on a quest through the mythical Dolomite Mountains to rescue the Dragon Dragnor and the magical Owl Astradir, and restore harmony in the Kingdom of the regal lynx Queen Azdra.

Guests will experience different features of the ride depending on the route they take in their quest to rescue the heroes. This encourages repeat visits to the high throughput ride.

Triotech will be sharing details of its attractions and rides at IAAPA Expo Europe 2023 at booth A-1601. Delegates can learn more about projects including an immersive Transformers experience and its innovative Hyper Ride at Niagara Falls.
