Two Bit Circus has raised $15 million to develop a 30,000 sq ft amusement park in Los Angeles.

Theexperimental entertainment company uses technology to create temporary micro-amusement parks and educational installations, includingmulti-person virtual reality and mixed reality games. They were also behind the STEAM Carnival, which mixes STEM and Art with the aspiration to inspire curiosity and innovation.

The funding round was led by Jazz Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors including Foundry Group, Techstars Ventures, and Intel Capital.

Pop-up games have raised the company's profile, but Two Bit Circus are now looking to extend the scope of their audience and life of their creations with a permanent facility.

A site for the new venture is being sought near a retail centre, with the opening unlikely before 2018. Beta nights will be held as the development progresses.
