Jason Universe haunted house is coming to Florida and California

Friday the 13th‘s Jason Voorhees is being resurrected for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood.

Jason Universe is the name of the new haunted house at Universal’s iconic Halloween event in Florida and California.

“For 45 years, Jason Voorhees has terrified and thrilled audiences globally,” said Robert Barsamian, president of Horror, Inc., the original owner of the Friday the 13th film franchise.

“With Jason Universe at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, we’re celebrating that legacy in an immersive way that honors the character’s brutal mythology while giving fans the chance to experience it like never before,” he added.

“It’s a visceral homecoming for one of horror’s most enduring icons.”

During the new Halloween Horror Nights experience, guests will find themselves at the summer camp where the machete-wielding killer originated.

Visitors will experience the creaking floorboards of Jason’s ramshackle cabin, the camp’s decaying main lodge, and the eerie forest surrounding it.

“Bringing Jason Voorhees to Halloween Horror Nights in an all-original haunted house is a major moment for fans and for us,” said Horror Inc.’s chief marketing officer, Sheri Conn.

“Jason Universe taps into four decades of horror legacy and reinvents it for a new generation – combining immersive storytelling and cinematic detail that only Universal Studios’ teams can deliver.

“This is more than a haunted house – it’s a full-on tribute to one of the most iconic slashers in pop culture.”

Halloween Horror Nights begins on 29 August at Universal Orlando and 4 September at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Amazon Prime Video’s drama series Fallout is also being transformed into a new haunted house at both theme parks.

Meanwhile, Universal’s first year-round horror experience is opening in Las Vegas on 14 August as part of Area15’s 20-acre expansion.
