New land is inspired by DreamWorks brands like Shrek, Trolls and Kung Fu Panda

Universal Orlando has unveiled its upcoming DreamWorks land, home to a family-friendly coaster, interactive play areas, live entertainment, and character interactions.

Opening this summer at Universal Studios Florida, the new land is inspired by DreamWorks Animation brands like Shrek, Trolls and Kung Fu Panda.

In the Shrek-themed area, visitors can explore the ogre’s swamp and cottage. Here, guests can meet Shrek, Princess Fiona and Donkey.

This zone also includes a play area for little ogres with slides and wet play areas, as well as ‘Mama Luna Feline Fiesta’, an interactive experience based on Puss in Boots 2: The Last Wish.

‘King Harold’s Swamp Symphony’ is another interactive attraction in the Shrek area, and guests can enjoy snacks such as a ‘Shrekzel’ and a ‘Frozen Ogre’ at ‘Swamp Snacks’.

In the Trolls-themed area, guests can ride the ‘Trollercoaster’, a Caterbus-style attraction where riders escape evil spiders. ‘Poppy’s Playground’ is a shaded play area featuring colourful flowers.

‘Troll’s Treats’ is a playful kiosk serving colourful ice cream, and ‘High Five Hideaway’ is a retail outlet selling related DreamWorks merchandise.

As for Kung Fu Panda experiences, ‘Po Kung Fu Training Camp’ is a new play area that brings to life the Panda Village. Guests can help the pandas wash and dry their laundry with huge water cannons, or ride in oversized merry-go-round noodle bowls from Mr. Ping’s Noodle Shop.

Additional experiences in the new DreamWorks land include a multi-sensory attraction in the new DreamWorks Theater called ‘Imagination Celebration’ that combines pop songs, dancing and advanced technology.

At a special zone for character interactions, guests will meet Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse and more.
