Universal Destinations & Experiences, a division of Comcast NBCUniversal and the creator of the popular Halloween Horror Nights events, has now announced the name of its first-ever permanent horror experience: Universal Horror Unleashed.

The new concept, which will be housed at Area15, an immersive entertainment district in Las Vegas, combines cutting-edge immersive experiences with the company’s skill in the horror genre. Spooky eateries and spine-tingling bar areas will be surrounded by an array of distinctive, immersive, and horror-focused activities.

It will thrill enthusiasts of Universal’s horror offerings and entertain those seeking a fresh take on experiential entertainment, and will be updated on a regular basis with exclusive merchandise and must-see seasonal events.

Universal-Horror-Unleashed

“Universal Horror Unleashed is another way we are using our unique style of horror storytelling to engage fans of this genre,” says Page Thompson, president of new ventures at Universal Destinations & Experiences. “We look forward to bringing frightful fun to Las Vegas year-round.”

A new anchor tenant for Area15

This new concept is part of Universal Destinations & Experiences’ goal to introduce new products to fresh audiences and markets. Area15 CEO Winston Fisher described the project to blooloop as “badass” when it was announced earlier in the year. Universal Horror Unleashed will be an anchor tenant in Area15′s 20-acre expansion.

Fisher added that the experience is going to be “incredible and standout”. Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, he adds, is a “30-year concept that has incredible brand awareness… It’s edgy, it’s cool, it’s fun. It’s the right concept to be part of the AREA15 district. It’s exciting.”

With its classic films featuring iconic characters like Frankenstein, The Mummy, and the Wolf Man, Universal has long defined the horror genre. And, through partnerships with well-known directors like Jason Blum, James Wan, and Jordan Peele, the studio has also reinvented modern horror and suspense stories.

Halloween Horror Nights, now in its 32nd year, brings NBCUniversal’s legendary horror brands, like Universal Monsters, CHUCKY, The Exorcist: Believer, The Purge, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and more to life in horrifying ways.

Area15 recently announced a range of Halloween experiences taking place this year, including the first ‘Goth and Glampire GRave’, creepy karaoke, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show viewing experience.
