A group of America’s biggest theme park fans enjoyed a special day out at Oakwood Theme Park.
More than 50 members from Theme Park Review’s official theme park and roller coaster enthusiasts organisation Club TPR travelled over from the United States to visit the Pembrokeshire park as part of a European tour.
During the visit they enjoyed a behind the scenes tour of the wooden rollercoaster Megafobia, a walk through in one of the park’s dark rides and a question and answer session with members of the Oakwood’s maintenance team.
The trip was organised by Theme Park Review founders Robb and Elissa Alvey who were impressed by their visit.
“We all had an awesome time at Oakwood and would like to thank everyone for making our trip so memorable, ” said Robb.
“Megafobia is running the best I’ve seen it in 10 years and Speed: No Limits is still the best Euro Fighter ride in the world, ” he added.
Theme Park Review was launched in 1996 and is now the number one unofficial theme park and rollercoaster website in the world with over one million unique users each year.
Oakwood Theme Park Director, Andy Hygate, said: “Theme Park Review is the world’s most influential forum for theme park and rollercoaster enthusiasts throughout the world.
“We’re delighted that Rob, Elissa and the other members of Club TPR had such a good time and it’s great to hear how highly they rate both Megafobia and Speed.
“It’s particularly high praise as these people have spent 16 years working in the theme park industry and travelled the world to experience new rides, ” he added.
