Amusement Parks: Cedar Point Kicks Off Summer!

High-flying bikers and splash landings will be part of the fun when a new extreme sports stunt show and the Soak City waterpark will open for the summer at Cedar Point on Saturday, May 24. A special all-you-can-eat buffet will also be available during the Memorial Day Weekend.

Hot off an 11-year stint in California, the "All Wheels Extreme" sports stunt show will be a brand new entertainment offering that has never been seen at the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park/resort.

Presented in the Extreme Sports Stadium, the 25-minute program will feature bikers, gymnasts, dancers, a rollerblader and a skateboarder in a high-energy show that will captivate guests of all ages with gravity-defying stunts,  energetic music and vibrant costumes. The 12-person cast will use ramps, half-pipes and a trampoline to execute stunts that will keep the audience on the edge of its seat.

To celebrate the holiday weekend, Cedar Point is offering a special online Memorial Day Meal Deal. For only $44.95 plus tax, guests can purchase an online ticket valid for park admission on Saturday, Sunday or Monday, May 24-26, and an All-You-Can-Eat buffet meal featuring chicken, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, ice cream, cookies and assorted Pepsi beverages. (Serving time will be 4-7 p.m.) Special discounts for junior, senior and season pass-holders are also available. Tickets can only be purchased online. Visit for all the details.

Since opening in 1988, Soak City, the 18-acre waterpark located adjacent to Cedar Point, has grown into one of the Midwest’s finest outdoor waterparks offering a diverse collection of super-soaking attractions such a huge wave pool, water slides, inner tube rivers and special areas for young families.

Some of the "hot spots" at Soak City include Breakers Bay, a 500, 000-gallon wave pool where water-lovers can splash in the three-foot waves or float on inner tubes. There is also the 76-foot-tall Zoom Flume raft slide that carries riders through a twisting course with high-banked curves.

Nearby is Splash Zone, a multi-story interactive play area that features dozens of water gadgets that spray or squirt and a giant bucket that dumps 1, 000 gallons of water on guests below.

For young families, Tadpole Town and Choo-Choo Lagoon are big hits. These children’s areas have pint-sized water slides and gadgets that are perfect for frolicking and splashing.

Soak City will be open daily Saturday, May 24 through Labor Day, Sept. 1. Operating hours will vary. Proper swimwear is required. Admission to Cedar Point is not required.
