As part of its year-long 10th Anniversary Celebration, the Aquarium of the Pacific celebrated the arrival of its 1.5 millionth guest for the year on December 30, 2008. The Kerian family of Eleri, James, Kathleen, and Emily from Grafton, North Dakota, who were visiting the Aquarium on vacation, were the 1.5 millionth guests. They were honored with a special greeting by the Aquarium’s staff and shark mascot, and the prize of a family membership to the Aquarium of the Pacific.
The Aquarium of the Pacific is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a year-long series of events, promotions, daily prize giveaways, and a new exhibit on the top 10 ocean issues through May 21, 2009. For the Aquarium of the Pacific, 2008 marked its seventh year in a row of attendance increases, making it the fourth largest aquarium in the country.
