Fireman Sam spent the weekend meeting and greeting families on the platform and posing for photographs with the children.  Other activities at the Railway included steam train rides, face-painting and talks by firemen on being fire-fighters.

Kate Tilley, Marketing Manager at the heritage railway attraction comments:  “This is the first time we have had Fireman Sam at the Great Central Railway and we were delighted with the results.  The children all went away with smiles on their faces and the whole event had a really nice atmosphere. Sam was great with the children and we will definitely have him back again soon”.

Rainbow Productions is also managing licensed character appearances at other heritage railway attractions throughout the year including Peppa Pig and George’s visit to Wealden Railway in Tunbridge Wells later this month – 11th June – and Postman Pat® and Jess the Cat’s appearances at Cornwall’s Bodmin & Wenford Railway over the Bank Holiday weekend on 28th & 29th August.
