Cruden racing simulators put guests in the driving seat at Aldar’s Yas Island theme park in Abu Dhabi

News

Cruden B.V., the world’s leading professional racing simulator company, has supplied ten full motion racing simulators to Aldar Properties PJSC, Abu Dhabi’s leading property development, management and investment company, for a new theme park on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

In one attraction, eight Cruden Hexatech simulators are linked together, allowing guests to take the steering wheel and compete against each other in iconic sports cars at the nearby Yas Marina Circuit. For the ultimate driving simulation experience, two actual, full-size vehicles – a luxury sports car and a Formula One race car – are mounted on large motion platforms.

“Cruden is proud to be associated with the largest indoor park in the world, and of the fact our professional, interactive technology is sought by attractions companies wanting to provide the most realistic racing simulation equipment available” says Frank Kalff, commercial director for Cruden. “We know our simulators draw in large crowds, but our team has been quite overwhelmed at the sheer spectacle of this finished attraction.”

The Yas Island park is Cruden’s largest Middle Eastern installation to date and the latest in a growing number of projects at theme parks, karting venues, simulation centres and malls as well as the homes of private individuals around the world. Using the exact same advanced technology as the professional simulators Cruden supplies to the world’s leading motorsport teams, the simulators’ realism is achieved through accurate force feedback and motion-cueing technologies resulting from the company’s heritage in industrial simulation for the aerospace, marine, defence and automotive sectors.

Continues Kalff: “Cruden is committed to the entertainment market and from our experience working in partnership with Aldar Properties and others, we know how to make racing simulators work for each attraction; from design concepts and simulator specification to financing and business models, and especially how to support construction projects with rapid, hassle-free delivery and installation.”

Cruden will present its simulators to the global attractions market – including a new compact, affordable and flexible ‘Hexathrill’ simulator – on stand 1451 at the International Association of Amusements Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo (November 15th-19th) in Orlando, Florida, USA.
