Drayton Manor Theme Park adds more spectacular live entertainment for 2008

News

Exclusive live shows, concerts, firework displays and more lined up to entertain all the family. The UK’s Drayton Manor Theme Park has announced a major programme of spectacular live entertainment for the 2008 season aimed at visitors of all ages and tastes.

The Drayton Manor management recognise live entertainment as an increasingly important part of the park’s overall entertainment mix and has put together an array of indoor and outdoor shows and performances that began in March and will continue throughout the season. And in addition to providing some great entertainment for all the family, a number of the events being held will help raise funds for a variety of charitable causes.

Working in conjunction with specialist show production company Hamagination, this year’s live show offering includes three major productions and commenced with Voyage to Rainbow’s End, produced by Hamagination’s Paul Hammond. Having proved hugely successful during a run at Drayton Manor last season, the show has been brought back for the new season, playing in March in the Big Top theatre with further performances during May.

Also to be introduced at Drayton Manor at various times throughout the season is the brand new show Cosmic Catz, again produced by Paul Hammond, this to be shown in The Television Theatre, while the Big Top Theatre will witness yet another brand new live show later in the season with the opening in July of Crusade to the Lost Temple, an Indiana Jones themed show. This again will be produced by Hamagination’s Paul Hammond, who commented: “We are looking forward to continuing the development of the live products at Drayton Manor. The new shows are exciting and bring another dimension to the existing attractions Drayton Manor has to offer.”

As well as these three major productions which bring high quality, professional productions to Drayton Manor guests, a wide range of additional live entertainment events will be taking place during 2008. These include picnic and fireworks concerts featuring various “tribute” artists and bands covering famous stars such as Kylie, Elvis and Abba, the Halloween Spooky Spectacular, fireworks spectaculars and Santa’s Magical Adventure, to be held later in the year in the Big Top Theatre and over the Christmas and New Year period. Live entertainment is also being held in the new Thomas Land area, featuring Thomas and Friends characters, throughout the season.

“We are extremely proud of the live entertainment offering we provide at Drayton Manor, ” noted Managing Director Colin Bryan, “which is an important part of the overall entertainment mix and brings to our guests something unique which they may not have experienced before. Working with Paul Hammond at Hamagination has enabled us to create highly professional and enjoyable productions for all the family and with up to seven shows a day at the height of the season, the live entertainment offering brings much added value to the guests’ day out.”
