News

Attractions industry consultant Martin Barratt has joined UK company Vision XS as a director in a move that adds yet more knowledge and experience to the rapidly growing organisation.

Barratt became an independent consultant in 2004 after over 20 years of operations and development experience in the European attractions industry, including management roles with the Tussauds Group at Chessington World of Adventures and five years as Operations Director at Alton Towers. He then became operations manager at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, before directing the new factory tour for the Wedgwood pottery company in Staffordshire.

He subsequently joined the Merlin Entertainments Group, where he managed contracting and consulting, new business development and directed operations of the Dungeons and parks business unit. His consultancy clients include Historic Scotland, London Zoo, Woburn Abbey, Blackstone Group, Cardiff City Council and Merlin.

He joins Vision XS at an exciting time in the company’s development and commenting on his role said: "I am delighted to join the board of Vision XS at a time when our industry has recognised the value and uniqueness of the services we offer. We are heading towards a period of rapid growth and I am looking forward to the challenges that this will bring. Our focus will be on improving the service that we offer to our new and existing clients and increasing our competitive advantage."

Equally delighted with Barratt’s addition to the Vision board is CEO Tony Sefton who commented: “I am very pleased to welcome Martin to Vision XS as a member of our board of directors. These are exciting times for Vision with our involvement in numerous varied projects both in the UK and around the world and Martin brings a great deal of industry experience and knowledge to the team.
