Mirage Entertainment and Hersheypark Renew “Great Candy Caper” for 3rd Year

News

Hersheypark’s innovative “Great Candy Caper” has started rehearsals for its third year. The unique show features two Patagonian Sea Lions, zoot suits, high diving and a priceless chocolate pearl.

“Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company is a truly special client who asked us for an aqua show like nothing in the world, ” explains David Draves, VP of Live Show Production for Mirage. “The concept of combining Sea Lion behaviors with comedic diving and stunts posed some extraordinary challenges… especially since the Sea Lions are the stars of the show. But honestly, we’ve never had this much fun producing a show.”

Marco Peters, President of Squalus Inc. and owner of the Sea Lions, prepares “Bruce” and “Kitty” in the off-season for Mirage and provides the on-site trainers for the show.

“Hersheypark is looking forward to begin our third year with Mirage Entertainment, ” adds Laura Woodburn, Director of Entertainment. “Mirage Entertainment brought us ‘The Great Candy Caper’ in 2006 and was nominated in 2007 in the Edutainment category of IAAPA’s ‘Big E’ awards. We hope that our guests enjoy the new twists ‘The Great Candy Caper’ has in store for this new year.”

The show opens April 4th and runs through October 31st.
